6 players, Western Front, SE 5a's vs. Albatrosses

On November 22, 1917, a pair of SE 5a's took off through the cold rain and made their way across the front just east of Cambrai, the site of horrific fighting over the past 72 hours. The battle of Cambrai was raging, and both sides has sent their elite units to the area to maintain control of the skies.

2/Lt's H. D. Arkell and J. Cushny found an entire flight of ten Albatrosses flying overhead when they emerged from a cloud bank. Four of the Albs dove to the attack, while the other six maintained altitude and provided top cover.

Arkell's gravity tank was hit after he managed to drive one of the Albatrosses away. Cushny fared no better, with his SE severely shot up and a wound in his left arm. Both pilots were forced back across the lines to make landings at an emergency field, with Cushny crashing when his landing gear collapsed.
