Indy Squadron Dispatch
Volume 13, Number 1 (?)
September, 2001

Wow. Were back.

Well, sort of. As you may have noticed, I dont even know for sure what issue number this is, because the last half a dozen or so issues that weve printed never got published. Eek. Heres the latest scoop on Indy Squadron news:

DP GAMES THIS SATURDAY, 10AM, AT RICK LACYS HOUSE!!! Four players already confirmed. Dont be a weenie. Show up. Email Rick at rlacy40@hotmail.com for directions. Hes on the near east side just off I-465.

  1. We had a small gaming session on Wednesday, September 26th, at Scott Campbells house. We had five players at a short-notice session (Scott Campbell, Stephen Skinner, Stephen Dale Skinner, Jim Delp and Kevin Richeson). If you did not get an invitation, please accept my sincere apologies. I didnt mean to short anyone at all; this just came up on short notice and Im afraid I didnt tell everyone in time. In fact, the whole gaming night wasnt even my idea. So blame me. Sorry!
  2. We played five games which were actually very exiting and eventful. Especially for Scott, who managed to get shot in every single game except the last one! The greatest loss to the entire squadron was Scotts outstanding Fokker DVII ace, Of. Stlv.  Rutbert Kettering. Kettering was lightly wounded and managed to land successfully, only to die in the hospital later. It was really pretty sad, since we have all flown with or against Kettering in past games. His final record of 16/2 will stand among the all time Indy Fokker DVII leaders. On a brighter note, Scott did manage to make an ace in the same night when his British pilot, Lt. Bill Butz, who scored his fifth kill and now holds an astounding 5/5 record. The famed DVII duo of Aron and Arthur Hess (Stephen, 41/21 and Stephen Dale, 9/4) also flew, with Arthur scoring his fourth kill. Kevin had a career night to say the least, handing out more wounds than most players do in a year. Jim had to leave a bit early but (if I remember correctly) was, along with Stephen, the only player to survive every game. All in all, a very fun evening.
  3. I am working hard to find out what the problem is with the Indy Squadron web site. I know many of you miss the forum, as do I, and we wanted to have it running again by now. Please know that everything humanly possible is being done to get the site updated and the forum going once again. In the meantime, many things on the web site like the Calendar page are still accurate. Log on to http://users.erinet.com/43977/indy.htm .
  4. The ARMISTICE DAY FITS TOURNAMENT is coming up on Sat, November 17th at 10am! Be sure and mark your calendar accordingly! This is the big one for all the marbles and it will be good to see a big crowd back at the Indy DP table.
